Helen’s our Housing Hero!
We’re proud to announce that our incredible colleague and Lead Fundraiser, Helen, has been shortlisted in the Housing Heroes Awards, in the category of Independent Inspirational Colleague of the Year. These national awards, part of Housing 2025 in Manchester this June, celebrate outstanding individuals making a difference in the housing sector - and Helen is certainly one of them.
Helen has been an incredible force behind our fundraising efforts over the past two years at Contact Hostel. With years of experience in organising successful campaigns, she brings not only expertise but also a deep passion for helping vulnerable young people.
Teamwork is at the core of everything we do at Contact. Whether it’s frontline Support Workers or behind-the-scenes roles like fundraising, it takes a team effort to create lasting impact. Helen’s nomination reflects not just her individual contribution, but the collective commitment of everyone at Contact.
From applying for grants and coordinating events to managing donor relations and raising awareness, Helen pours her time into making sure we have the resources we need to support those who rely on us. Her work is so impacting and she's also a joy to work alongside! Helen is not only a brilliant fundraiser, she’s a kind, determined colleague who brings warmth and positivity to our team.
Reflecting on the nomination, Helen said "I’m so grateful for the nomination. It’s lovely to have been shortlisted as an Inspirational colleague, but the real inspiration comes from the young women we support - their strength and determination motivates everything we do. It’s a joy to fundraise for such an important charity and to be part of a team that works so hard to make a difference.”
