Easter Celebrations at Contact

Easter was a special time at Contact, filled with warmth, good food and community spirit. Our wonderful support worker Phyllis treated everyone to a delicious homemade roast dinner, which brought everyone together around the table.

While Easter is a Christian holiday, it also symbolises hope, renewal and community, values that are at the heart of what we do at Contact. We aim to make this time of year feel meaningful and inclusive for all of our residents, regardless of their faith or background, by creating a warm, welcoming space where everyone feels cared for and valued.

The girls got involved by baking cakes, filling the house with the smell of fresh treats and plenty of smiles. Thanks to the generosity of our local supporters, we were also able to gift each young woman a selection of chocolate Easter eggs — a small gesture that meant a lot.

Creating good memories and moments like these are so important. They offer comfort, connection, and a sense of celebration to young people who may be experiencing Easter away from family for the first time. Thank you to everyone who helped make it feel special.

We aim to provide ‘everything a good parent should’ to our residents at Contact Hostel and we are only able to do this thanks to the support of our donors. If you would like to make a donation to help us continue offering a safe home to girls when they need it most, please click here.
