How you can support us

 

Contact is a charity and needs to raise £170,000 this year to enable us to support vulnerable young women.

Your money will help us pay for running costs at the hostel, hardship funds, as well as comprehensive move-on packages.

Volunteer

We are always looking for more volunteers to help with our work, so if you can spare any time to host any fundraising activities then please do get in touch with Helen to discuss further.

Be an Ambassador – Are you good at public speaking? We are always in need of people who could speak about our work to local community groups or schools to help spread the word.

Donations

Contact has been offering local girls in need a safe place to live since it was founded in 1970.

To donate online please complete the form below, any cheques should be sent to Contact Hostel, 339 Wilbraham Road, Manchester, M16 8GL.

Don’t forget to add Gift Aid if you are eligible.

If you prefer you can set up a standing order by downloading, completing and returning this form to us at Contact: Contact Hostel, 339 Wilbraham Rd, Whalley Range, Manchester M16 8GL. Cheques should also be sent to this address.

We rely on the generosity of local people who support us with their kind donations of Easter and Christmas treats and everyday items such as bedding and toiletries, alongside financial donations.

No gift is too small and will make a very real difference to the lives of these vulnerable girls, many of whom arrive at our door with just the clothes on their back.

We are fortunate to have been supported by many local companies over the years. We recognise the very real difference such connections can make. There are many ways your company can get involved, and by supporting a charity like Contact you are strengthening your links in the community. ADOPT A ROOM

It costs £17,212 to house and support a young girl for a year in one of our supported rooms.

Our Adopt a Room scheme will mean you will support the resident(s) of one of our 8 rooms for a whole year.

We can help support you throughout the year with ideas and materials to help offer a range of ways people can get involved in our work and help make a difference to the lives of all the young girls we support each year.

DRESS DOWN FRIDAY

Have a casual dress code on Fridays in return for donations, then ensure the proceeds go to Contact, every penny you donate goes directly towards helping a young homeless person.

DONATE ESSENTIAL ITEMS

Want to donate much needed items direct to hostel?

We have created an Amazon Wishlist full of hostel essentials where you can choose items that will directly benefit the young women in hostel.

Many of the young women will arrive with little or no belongings. We do our very best to make sure they have everything they need to be comfortable during their time at Contact.

We encourage our young women to take items such as bedding and towels with them when they move on to more independent accommodation to ensure they are comfortable in their new home.
